Politicians have been warned to eschew proactive statements or risk throwing the state into crisis.
The Church of Christ in Nations was reacting to rumours going round the state, that, the church has asked its members to vote a particular governorship candidate, saying the recent reports linking it with a political interest are false.
Speaking at a dialogue session on preventing election in Jos on Tuesday, COCIN Vice President, Rev. Dr. Obed Dashan, said the Church has members in every political party and has no particular interest in any candidate for the 2019 general elections.
According to him, “Any Pastor, who therefore preaches in favour of any political party, is speaking for himself and not the Church. All aspirants in every political party are our children, and we can’t reject any of them because we love them all.”
