JOS – Former Plateau State Governor and serving Nigerian Senator, Jonah Jang, has assured that he will use his political might to garner votes and endure victory for People’s Democratic Party at all levels during the polls.
Senator Jang, who contested the Presidential ticket of the PDP but lost to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar made this assertion in Mangu, Tuesday, during the flag-off of the party’s campaigns in Mangu.
According to him, he will personally lead the People Democratic Party in the state, and called on the electorates in the state to vote for the party’s Presidential and Gubernatorial candidates whom he was rumoured to be at par with.
Sen. Jang said, the PDP laid the foundation for most of the projects commissioned by the APC in the country.
He therefore asked the present state governor, Simon Lalong, to get set to vacate the State Government House, come May, 2019.
The Senator emphasized “enough of the deceit and exploitations of the APC,” adding that he (Lalong) “should start parking his luggage to move out of that Government House.”
Chairman of the party in the state, Hon. Damishi Sango, said, “if Jeremiah T Useni is given the mandate, the state will be liberated from the spirit of sycophancy.”
Hon. Sango, while seeing the mammoth crowd at the venue, said “I weep for the numbers of supporters trouping in to the Stadium. You cannot compare those inside the Stadium with those, who are trekking from distance to come and grace the party flag-off.”
He commended the resilient and commitment of all the aspirants, who contested during the primaries, and urged them to exhibit high sense of maturity and tolerance.
Reacting on Governor Lalong’s speech during his flag-off that he ‘will die for President Buhari,’ Sango said, “He will not die for an individual but for Jesus Christ. That is a very irresponsible comment – to say you will die for some else.”
