My victory at primaries should not intimidate other contestants – Useni

Christiana Gokyo, Jos

The gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Sen. Jeremiah Useni, has appealed for the support of those that contested the party’s ticket with him but lost.

Sen. Useni made the appeal at his campaign flag-off in Mangu local government area of Plateau State on Tuesday, while stating that he does not see his victory at the party’s primaries held last year as a reason to undermine any of his fellow contestants.

According to him, as far as he is concerned, with the primaries, no winner, no vanquished, and pledged to offer “purposeful leadership” as opposed to the ruling APC’s ‘leadership of deceit and exploitation.’

Also speaking, a renowned woman in the state, Mrs. Sarah Dokitri, observed that about 50 percent of Plateau people are in Internally Displaced Persons’ camps.

Mrs. Dokitri, who was a onetime Member of the Nigerian House of Reps, said at the flag-off of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial campaigns that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party in the State has failed in protecting lives and property of citizens.

According to her that, the Simon Lalong-led government in the state has not initiated and completed any project of its own but has largely commissioned those facilitated by the PDP.

She called on citizens to guard their Permanent Voter Cards towards electing credible leaders in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
