Unknown gunmen kill 4 at Barkin-Ladi

Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the killing of 4 persons at Nding Village of Barikin-Ladi local government area of the state.

The Command said it received a distress call from one SAMSON BITRUS of Gwom Nding Village on the 30/12/2018, at about 1815hrs that on the same date and about 1800hrs, some unknown gunmen attacked a Peugeot 504 Station Wagon on the way to Nding Village.

A press statement, signed and issued to newsmen in Jos on Monday, said the Commissioner of Police Plateau State Command, CP Austin I. Agbonlahor, on receiving the information, immediately assembled a team that raced to the scene of crime but discovered on arrival that the attackers had already fled the area.

The statement was signed by the Public Relations Officer, DSP Matthias T. Terna, in which it explained that at the scene of crime, three persons were seen motionless and they were immediately taken to the Barkin-Ladi General Hospital where they were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

The statement also affirmed that three other persons were injured and taken to the hospital, out of which one died, while receiving treatment.

The PPRO said the remaining two persons in the hospital are responding to treatment.

The CP has advised citizens to go about their lawful businesses and volunteer information that could lead to the timely arrest of the perpetrators of the dastardly act so as to face the full weight of the law.
