Plateau state youths, under the aegis of “Plateau Northern Youth,” have applauded the recent award of scholarships to 300 students by National Assembly member, Istifanus D. Gyang.
Hon. Gyang, who had earlier in the year, issued scholarships to nearly 300 students from Plateau North, this week, gave same to another set of four students.
Secretary-General/Director of Research, Planning and Documentation of the Plateau Northern Youth group, Mr. Babayaro Augustus, said by the move, Mr. Gyang has demonstrated more commitment towards citizens’ educational advancement than any of his contemporaries.
He described the legislator as a credible and result-driven leader, whose performance has distinguished him among his peers, and urged the electorates in Plateau North to support Mr. Gyang in his Senatorial bid for greater impact by the member.
The scholarship award is to support the students in the pursuit of their dreams, “not for political reasons,” head of the scholarship program, Mr. Friday Bako, said at the presentation of the package to the beneficiaries in Jos, recently.
Chief of Staff to Barr I.D. Gyang, Mr. Yakubu Lobadungze, at the event charged the students to be responsible in chasing their dreams.
Director-General of the I.D. Gyang Positive Impact Campaign, Hon. Arushe Ayiki, also tasked the students to take their academics seriously.
