Law Week in Plateau: lawyers urged to inculcate justice, righteousness

By Christiana Gokyo, Jos

Lawyers in plateau state have been cautioned to always dwell in justice and righteousness, while dispensing justice, as by doing this peace will return to the state and the nation.

This was disclosed by Rev Fr. Titus Ojima during a Thanksgiving Mass of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), to begin their Law Week on Sunday at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church Jos. The Law Week had begun with prayers in the Mosques on Friday.

He challenged Christians that, despite their lamentations and difficulties, they should continue to hold on to God, adding that “God is the beginning and the finisher of everything in our lives. This thanksgiving coincides with the season of Advent, which signifies the birth of Jesus Christ.”

He urged them not to use the period to acquire wealth but rather as a period of sharing and love, saying “We should practice justice and righteousness for peace to return in our state.”
